Effective Ventures Foundation USA, Inc. is a section 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization in the USA (EIN 47-1988398).

Our Board

The EV US Board is responsible for overall management and oversight of EV US.

 

Nick Beckstead (Chair)

Nick did a PhD in Philosophy at Rutgers University, writing his dissertation on the importance of shaping the distant future and helping to launch the Centre for Effective Altruism. Since then, he has worked as a researcher at the Future of Humanity Institute at Oxford University, as a Program Officer for Open Philanthropy, and as the CEO of the Future Fund.

 

Zach Robinson
Zach is the Interim CEO of EV US. Previously, he was Chief of Staff at Open Philanthropy, where he managed communications and grantmaking teams, helped set org-wide policies, and worked to identify new Global Health and Wellbeing cause areas for Open Philanthropy, among other things. Prior to his work at Open Philanthropy, he was the director of product and strategy for startup Ivy Research Council and worked as a consultant at Bain and Company.

 

Eli Rose
Eli is a Senior Programme Associate at Open Philanthropy, focusing on Effective Altruism Community Growth. Previously, he was Director of Engineering at Mentor Collective, a Boston educational technology company. He graduated in 2015 from Oberlin College, where he studied computer science and creative writing.

 

Nicole Ross
Nicole is the Head of Community Health and Special Projects at the Centre for Effective Altruism, though over the past few months she has been seconded away to focus on EV US board duties. Before working at CEA, she was a Research Analyst and Operations Associate at Open Philanthropy and a Staff Assistant at the Centre for Healthcare Ethics.
